Omg i just watched "Kim and Aggie go to hospital" i was so shocked. They are basically these two women who clean houses on a tv series in the uk. This time though they were in a hospital for 3 months supervising cleaning, taking swabs etc. On one ward thefood trays only got cleaned once a week, and there was this other room that had been "cleaned" - there was diarhea (sp?) all down one side of the bed - and the room had been certified clean!! Obviously these were isolated cases, not all hospitals are like this and it is going to be hard to avoid germs in a busy hospital but there were some really simple precautions that were ignored. They put alcohol hand rub at the entrance and exit to each ward but the majority of people just walked right past it, even nurses and doctors! They had a specialist guy on who was saying if everybody washed their hands there would be no spread of disease from ward to ward.

This programme totally opened my eyes, i really try not to think about germs on a day to day basis, but if i was going into hospital i would definetly be stressing!!!
