I have been starving all morning, but my daughter has been really cranky and hasn't given me a chance to eat. She finally fell asleep and my stomach was growling, so as I walked through the kitchen, I grabbed a handful of candy (candy corn to be exact). About2 minutes after I ate it, I felt my entire stomach tighten up - really weird. I can't say I ever remember feeling that before. Then it started feeling really churny and ot was gurling. I started getting really gassy, and I thought I might have to go to the bathroom so I went. It came out really loose - not d* but really loose. What happened?! I was fine, didn't feel sick at all, just hungry. Then right after I ate the candy this happens. Is it just from eating candy on an empty stomach? I am a big time sugar junkie, so this isn't the first time I have eaten candy with nothing in my stomach. Why would it happen this time? The cramping/tightening has eased up some, but I am so scared I might v*. It wasn't just my intestines that cramped, it was everything. Anyone had this happen before? Was I not really hungry like I thought? Please help!

a lot of times when you are hungry but don't get the chance to eat you get gas. you may not even realize that you have it but thats exactly what happens to me when i dont eat for a while and than i decide to eat something. i dont think it would have made a difference what you ate because at that point if your stomach was growling that meant that you already produced gas. when you eat or drink anything it pushes that gas through and causes you to go to the bathroom when you may not feel like you had to. once the gas goes away you will feel normal again but probably hungry and you might have to go to the bathroom again after you eat but it doesn't mean anything is wrong, its just how stomachs work. you are completely fine, trust me, i've been through this a million times and i think something is wrong every time but nope, its just gas. hope this helps.

It was probably a combo. of being hungry, having to "go" and your stomach telling ya "I need more than just candy in here". Try to have some type of soluble fiber like oatmeal or a small bowl of cereal. I hope you feel better!!!I'm sure you will soon.

I feel better now, but I'm scared to try and eat again (although I need to). My stomach has been off for about a week. I just feel n* all the time - whether I eat or not. Today I actually felt a little better (just hungrier). I have no idea what is going on with my body anymore! Thanks for the responses!

I tjhink the hunger plus pure sugar set your tummy off. When you do eat, try to eat something a little substantial. Maybe some chicken soup or something.

I ate sloppy joes with scalloped potatoes and corn for dinner and I did okay. I am kind of burping it up at the moment though. And I am craving a nice bowl of ice cream. It should be okay, though, since I have real food in my stomach now, right? I guess I'll find out because I'm going to have some! I just can't get myself over my ice cream cravings from being pregnant. I used to eat it every night for my heartburn, but now I have no excuse. I need to get pregnant again just to have a reason to eat ice cream!
