For the first time in a few months i've got a virus again. All day today i had earache, sore throat, stomach aches, feeling weak and have a temp. I've been trying to eat still though as i don't want to slip back, so im in bed right now, the wonderfullness of laptops hey lol. Is it still ok to eat when you have just a normal virus?? or should i stick to certain foods.

Personally, I think you should absolutely whatever you feel like eating, and if you don't feel like eating, don't. Let your body focus on getting rid of the illness, rather than on digesting foods.

I always crave Taco Bell when I'm sick.

Yeah chicken soup's the best for helping you overcome something like that- it's not just an old wives tale. It's easy to eat and full of nutrition to support your immune system. I hope you're feeling better soon hun!

Aww Ruth I'm sorry your feeling low. I agree chicken noodle soup is like one of the best things you can eat when you're feeling under the weather. Just eat easy foods, and if you don't feel like you can eat a meal its ok not to. I think you are doing great with the eating tho, see how far you've come? Here you have a virus and you are still eating! I even have a hard time with that when I say have a cold or something I dont like to eat much.

Get plenty of fluids! Lemon & honey is wonderfully soothing and healing.

Hmmm i don't get it. I felt better this mornng and all day, now again i have the same pain all over my stomach, its like really sharp stabbing pains. The only way i get rid of them is by laying down. I have been taking calpol (haha i know its for kids) which helps a bit, but im getting stomach pains all the time now, and i have been to the doctors so many times and they just say they don't know. Do you think i should go back aagain and put my foot down and ask them to check, as im getting them all the time now, but they have been getting worse the past few nights.

Hey Ruth,
Hmm, are these stomach pains possibly muscle soreness? Did you do anything strenous that you can think of? Sometimes if my stomach is cramping bad, I try and think if I did anything to strain it, and realize something silly like say struggling to open a window can do it, or lifting something heavy if youve tightened your muscles hard. How long have you had the pains, since yesterday?
