Dont know if any of you have this problem but im trying to plan a romantic holiday for our wedding anniversary, we have been saving so hard and could go almost anywhere in the world but i just cant go through with it, last time i went away i had n* and d* and it completley ruined the holiday as i spent most of the time lying in the room shaking uncontrollably like an idiot because my emet got the better of me.. i cant bear another holiday ruined because of this, but i dont want to keep giving in to this phobia either..

I totally agree--you should go! Everyone needs to get away for a bit and relax. Maybe you should try to pick a place to go where you are comfortable, or where you'll be comfortable. I know how hard it is to go somewhere again if you got panicky when you went there before--that's why I can't go to Walmart anymore!
If you have a doctor maybe he/she has some suggestions for you to help your anxiety, or maybe try homeopathic remedies from a health/nutrition store.
You'd be missing out on a wonderful time with your hubby on your anniversary. Is there a place you've been before and had an amazing time or a place you've always wanted to see? I'm sure it doesn't matter to him where you two go, as long as he's with you!

Perhaps talk to your doctor about a tranquilizer. I remember feeling exactly like you years ago, and the holiday was ruined totally....until I discovered dope (lol). My doctor prescribed tranquilizers for my trip and they calmed me down so much I was able to really enjoy the experience. (And that's all before I was successfully treated for this)

Give it some thought...but if you can't do it, then spend your energy (maybe even your money) getting treatment for your anxiety. Then you will be able to go anywehre, do anything, enjoy life forever. Well worth the investment!

I would ask for Propanolol - they work for anxiety and panic by ( i think) inhibiting the production of too much adrenaline, which is what makes us feel panic. You don't have to take a course of them, you justtake them an hour or so before doing whatever makes you panic. They have no side effects either - nothing noticeable anyway, no drowsiness or stomach disturbances. They really do work - if yourbody can't over-produce adrenalin then you can't panic. You could always buy some motilium and phenergan over the counter in the UK to counter any nausea you might feel while away.

When do you want to travel? There are some wonderfully romantic places not too far away which I have on my 'safe place' list - how about Venice, or Monte Carlo? Don't think you need to go to far flung places for a bit of romance - as long as you're together it's bound to be wonderful!

Oh, go to Venice, it is very very romantic. It is such a unique place too, there's nowhere else like it. You will be safe there from an emet point of view, I'm absolutely certain. If you do go, hire yourself a private water taxi from the airport, the public water buses are a nightmare if you hate being packed in with other people! Venice can be as lively or as quiet as you want, I doubt you'll be disappointed, I can't wait to go back!
