Hey, sorry i havn't been on for a while. I hope everyone is ok, how is everyone doing?. I've been doing a lot of thinking the past few days about what needs to be done. As you know i want to move out, but i think if i wanted to do that soo, i would have to work full time, or if i had a room in a house i could do i part time, but my main fear is who i would be sharing with. I sometimes think getting a full time would be to hard, but maybe it will make me a more confident person? and make me take care of myself. My parents are trying to ignore the fact of everything about liking girls, but maybe in a way thats better, then them constantly asking questions. Im 18 in a month so that would open up more jobs, as some you have to be 18 or older, i was wondering is anyone else around my age and work full time?.

I wish you luck, being on your own is hard..there is always something
you dont plan on that you will need money for. Sorry about your
parents. I think its great your you told them, and that you can say
freely that you like girls. Honeslty when your older it wont even
matter. If you want to move out I say do it!
I love Sam

Hey thanks for the replies. Yeah its better now its out in the open. I think it will be pretty tough going to work full time, but i think i need to move on. The reason im moving out is mainly because of getting on well with my dad and the fact that the past few years within my family have been tough, i've grown up with this problem since i was 6 and now im old enough to do something, maybe its time i should. How ever hard things have been i still am thankfull for the things i have such as caring friends, everyone on here! and life. But maybe even part time work and having to move in with someone else might an option, if i like looked around first. Also i don't have any work at the moment, i was told i had to reach a certain weight and for my eating disorder to get better, and now that it has and im gaining weight, i think taking the next step would be to get a job. Thanks again for the replies.

Hey Ruth-

I worked 20 hrs a week while in highschool, and when I moved away to go to university at 19, I worked about 30 hours a week while attending classes and participating in extra-curriculars. Right now, I work 24-32 hrs/week at a hotel, 5-10hrs/week as a teaching assistant, 10+hrs/week in volunteer work, and am trying to finish my thesis. This past summer was really my only break from having an actual job- I have been working steady since age 13.

Moving from living at home to working fulltime and being responsible for your own needs will be a big transition, but is definitely do-able. Your home life seems extremely stressful, and while work can bring about a certain level of stress, it's probably nothing compared to what you are currently experiencing because, at the end of the work day, you get to leave. Right now, you are in that environment almost 24-7. Just try to look for something that you would enjoy doing- if you actually like your job, it certainly gives you more motivation to stick through the rough parts.

As for living arrangements- I found that as long as I had my own room which was my own little "space", I could actually put up with a lot in terms of roomates. My only suggestion is to not move in with someone you consider a good friend- especially if you want to stay friends, lol. Acquaintances are good, that way you already know a bit about them, but aren't so close that you have the potential to hurt each others feelings over little things.

Goodluck with everything!
