My friend had it done and she was fine. She didn't v* at all, she was just groggy for the rest of the day. I wish your sister luck, I hope they don't have to remove alot of her cervix. My friend who had it done was told after conceiving a child would be harder for her because there was less surface space for the embryo to plant itself. Just stay positive for her, she's going to need your support. Again, good luck to her.

oh man that is too bad...

I just had a biopsy myself about a month ago and it felt not good at all.. major cramping down there.. and at one point i do remember it kind making me n* but nothing that i couldnt stand and it went away .. cuz then there was just that awful constent cramping feeling. I had it for two days. Like a period without the period.. anyways.. i know someone that had to have her cells removed from her cervix too and she said they just freeze them. Yes they numb the cervix and may give a sedative but this girl i know went to work that day and she was fine.. again not very comfortable but fine. No v* .. the only thing she recommended to me is to stay home cuz once the "freeze" thaws.. it all comes gushing out.. she kind of explained like her water had just broken.. lol.. poor girl.. anyways.. just a heads up.. but she should be ok!

its great u r going with her!

good luck.. my thoughts are with u both

Aww, I'm so sorry. You are a wonderful sister! Also remember IF (and thats a big if) she get sick you will know its not contagious. Hang in there, youre both in my thoughts and prayers.

Be strong, and if she does get sick just try to get through it. A few years ago my husband had major surgery and he woke up and was really nauseated, I asked the doc to give him a lot of anti-nausea stuff, and that stopped it.

With a sedative she shouldn't get sick- usually it's general anesthesia or rarely, "twilight sleep" anesthesia. With a plain old sedative she should be okay.

Oh and, if she does get sick... it is very mild v* because she'll have an empty stomach probably. My mother was ill from anesthesia once but it was pretty much nothing, since she hadn't eaten because of the surgery.
