Okay on Saturday night I had a steak that was cooked to medium, on sunday at around 4 I had some expired salsa. Anyway On Saturday night, my abdomen started hurting after I peed (I'm thinking it's my bladder) and probably a UTI. This morning I woke up and I'm feeling really nauseous on and off. I don't think I have a fever but like I'm afraid to go into the bathroom cause I might throw up. I can even only smoke half a cigarette because then I get nauseous and have to put it out (Which is REALLY annoying for me seeing as how much I smoke) My question is....could it be the steak? Could it be the salsa? Or could it be the possible UTI? I don't want to throw up I really don't, but I feel like I will! What do I do? HELP!

Hi there, I hope you are feeling better.

Im sure its not the steak as apparently you can eatit rare (not that I do) and the salsa is basically just tomatoesso it could be a UTI.

Just try to relax and Im sure youll be fine.

    Thinking of you.........

Hey - how are you now? Your best bet would probably to go see a doctor ... Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks, I talked to my mom and she says it sounds like a UTI too. It's too late now to call the doc but I will first thing tomorrow. The nausea has gotten a lot better and I'm actually thinking about going out for dinner. Hopefully that won't make things worse but I'm hungry!

I pretty much like my steaks medium-rare. I never seem to worry much about food born illnesses when it comes to meats. As long as it's not "rare". I think bacteria are killed at a certain temp but I'm not sure how that works. Restaurants serve like that all the time.

I worry more about catching something from someone. I've had alot more run-ins with that than anything from food not beingprepared well. I was around a sick co-worker today, and now my Emets is active again. Durring the summer months, it seems non-existant.

I always eat my steak cooked to medium and it's never made me sick. Also it's unlikely the salsa would make you sick. Most store bought ones contain a lot of preservatives, and besides that salsas have tomatoes and usually citrus juice in them which have asorbic acid as a natural preservative.

You could have a UTI it sounds like. Do you have a fever?

Call your doctor and try to get an appointment as soon as possible. If you have a UTI they should be able to find it and treat you. They'll give you massive antibiotics which will take care of it in three days. I took them last year when I had a mild UTI and it worked. And don't worry about v*ing from the antibiotics if you end up getting them because they didn't even upset my stomach at all.

I would go to the doctor because a UTI can quickly turn into a kidney infection which is not fun at all. UTI's can cause you to be a bit nauseated but I doubt you will v* just go see a doc asap
