Hi there

This is a weird one but as I know a lot of you are mums on here, I have a question about the contraceptive pill! I would like to know if anyone was on it before becoming pregnant and if so, did anyone get any nasty side effects, or any side effects at all when stopping taking it? I have read some stuff today but I wanted some emets experiences of coming off it!

I am thinking, and that is a BIG thinking, of coming off my pill but want to be prepared! Anyone got any experiences - good or bad?!

    Thanks

    Clare

    Hello there!!

I went off the pill (Ortho TriCyclen) years ago because I lost my insurance and couldn't afford it. The only problem I had was irregular periods and bleeding, and slight mood changes at times (really b*tchy!!!). I'm now back on them because I hate not knowing when I'm going to get it, plus my skin tends to go haywire without it and I hate being 31 years old with acne!
Still, there were really no major issues when I stopped before, and they weren't anything a little Midol couldn't handle.
    Hope this helps!!!

Thank you for your reply! Sounds as though thats nothing too bad to worry about! Although, I did suffer with terrible acne which is why I was put on this particular pill so I am worried I would end up spotty again!

    Hi again!!

There are plenty of other things out there for acne, so I wouldn't let that stop you from going off the pill. If it gets really bad you could see a dermatologist---they have amazing things out there these days for skin problems.
I just hated getting "ambushed" by my period.....it always seemed to arrive just in time to ruin my favorite pair of pants or expensive dress!! This way I know the exact day I'm going to get it, and can prepare my wardrobe accordingly!
