I looked at the link someone posted that has a site that lists all the violence and gore in a movie and looked up Cold Mountain but Im suspicious because theres at least 4 V scenes in the book. I am forced to watch this movie in class, and although I alerted my teacher to my fears he just said 'yes theres gore just turn your head or excuse yourself' and I specifically told him my fear of v through email and then that very day he responded with what I said earlier and in class he went on a tangent about v-ing every halloween every year from eating too much candy, and from getting drunk as a teenager, etc etc Im like OMFG did he really forget in 5 seconds or does he just not give a crap? anyway, I cried watching the movie today because i was so terrified that at any moment something bad would happen and Id have to flee class and people would notice.. and I just want to stop being scared. has ANYONE personally seen this movie and can tell me if there is V shown!? the site describes V sounds (which are equally as bad if not worse for me sometimes) but.. yeah.. in the book I know one particular scene is when they are moving the bull from the river and veasey does the deed, and they said inman heaves near the end of the book when hes starving and delerious.. arggh
    any help appreciated.

I saw it and I vaguely remember the v* scene. They were all sleeping outside and one guy wakes up and goes over to the side and v*. I don't think you actually see it, I think you just hear it. I shut my eyes quickly. It was a great movie, otherwise! The people I saw it with had read the book and said it was very similar.

If this is the film with Jude Law??? If so, it sucked first off(sorry you have to watch it) and secondly, I don't remember any v* scenes...I honestly don't...Don't hold me to that one though...Hmmm, I will keep thinking but if my memory serves me correctly, no V* scenes...just a boring, BORING, long movie

ugh yeah the book has many more v scenes, most of them are not in the movie thankfully, but there WAS the scene near the end with the fellows eating rotten meat and I think the guy was ill, I looked away and plugged my ears so I dunno.

And yes it was a crappy movie. The book was way better. hollywood loves to ruin books.
