I was talking about my emetophobia with my serious boyfriend tonight, and I asked him, would he honestly still love me and feel attracted to me if he heard or saw me V*ing. He said yes and I couldn't believe it. I guess I know I would still love him too, but it feels impossible that if he heard me be sick he would still find me sexy ever again. I guess this is a big thing of my fear, I want to be absolutely alone (except I usually want my mom there), and I fear the repurcussions if someone heard me. I wonder if I am afraid that I am unusually loud or gross when I v*? I have seen it on tv but when I do it myself (which has been years) I remember it sounding like a freight train in my ears. My psychologist asked me what is so bad about it and I remember the sound of it standing out to me when I've thought about it, so I'd like to put that out there for others' experiences.

    Hi there!!

I myself cannot remember the last time I v*ed (knock on wood!) but when I hear others do it it sounds like the most awful, horrifying thing in the world. I swear, it seems that some people I know (my stepfather especially!) have to make the entire block know they are getting s*ck. It may as well be on a PA system!! However, I think that because I hate it so much it's really not as bad as it sounds---my lovely emet mind makes it out to much more deafening than it truly is.

That is probably the thing I hate about it themost - the thought of doing it in front or anybody and them being repulsed by me. Hence my biggest fear, being sick in public. When I v* I have to be absolutely alone (in fact even as a little kid and mum came rushing in to the bathroom when I was ill would wind me up - I felt like telling her I needed privacy to do this most awful thing) and I hate to think anyone can hear me too.

My fiance has said I could literally throw up all over him and it would not bother him one bit or put him off me in any way, but I still can't stand the thought of him seeing me or hearing me!
