Okay so... all of you that have been pregnant before... do emets have less of a chance of getting morning sickness? My husband and I are talking about trying to get pregnant, and I am terrified that I will be n* most of the time, when all I really want to do is enjoy pregnancy. So... have any of you had it, and is it as horrible as I think it is??!! Any thoughts or posts here would be appreciated!

    Hi!

I did not get sick, or n* even ONCE my whol pregnancy...I wanted a baby so bad, but like you, was sooo scared to get sick! I had a c-section and everything, and no sickness at all! Thank the Lord! I read somewhere before that emets usually never get m/s!

Hope that helped some! Good luck TTC!

I never had it with either of my pregnancies, but none of my family did either. So maybe it's a hereditary thing. I did have a bit of n*, but only if I got hungry. Don't let emet put you off - the end result is worth it!!!

    Hi there!!

I never had any morning sickness at all with my pregnancy. I only felt n* once, but I think that was because I ate something very heavy and greasy.
Still, if I'd had it it would have been most definitely worth it---kids are amazing!!

Lidia--your little one is beautiful! Thanks guys... I feel stupid being all scared about this, but I guess that's why I wrote on here, because I knew that you guys would understand! But yeah my mom and her mom never had ms*, so I am hoping that it IS hereditary. And I know that my want for little ones is much more than my fear, so I guess whatever happens I will tough it out! Thanks all for your advice and stuff! :-)

It's been a while for me. My 'little one' is now 10! But I do recall having about 2-4 weeks of morning sickness with her. I was fine if I just rested on the couch until noontime. It was only in the morning for me, and only those few hours each morning. I never vomited. Toward the 2nd and 3rd trimester it was certain smells that would make me feel sick, but again... never vomited.

My husband and I are talking about having a baby and I totally worry more about sick kids than morning sickness.. For me it wasn't that bad at all.

I am just getting past the morning sickness part, and I never v*ed once. I did feel n* a couple of times, but as soon as I ate, it want away. The worst I felt was really icky. Sort of like a hangover\gut-rot. It started about 5 weeks and was gone by 10 weeks. Good luck, I wish you well!!

I was so n* with morning sickness, but never v*. A non emet would have though, I guess we just have this knack for being able to avoid it. I think you find tricks that work for you, and as long as you adhere to them, you'll be fine. Like I could never ever have an empty tummy. THat was certain v*. So I would even get up in the night and snack and I was better. I did start losing weight because I was so n*, so the doctor put me on some medicine, and that helped some. PLus I wore those wristbands that have the pressure points, made sure I never got too hot, always was hydrated, etc. You'll figure out what works for you and you'll do great! Janna

I would not say that an emet. is less likely to have MS, we are just less likely to actually v* from it. I had MS pretty bad but never actually got sick although became really close. Whatever the case is I wouldn't let it stop you from experiencing being pregnant and bringing a precious baby into this world.

I'm so excited for you! I can't wait to get pregnant again! My husband says 4 or 5 months and we can start trying again, but I'm secretly hoping for an "accident" before then!

I never v* with either of my children. With my second one, my daughter, I felt sick all the time for 2 months. I just had to have food in my stomach at all times. But I think with morning sickness it is easy to control your V*. But trust me I would be pregnant again in a heartbeat!! It is the most awesome experience in the world!!!!! ~Brandi~
