i was having a bad morning anyways...dreading work. and as soon
as i get there, i hear this lady talking about how she's there having
her carpets shampooed cus her son v*ed in the car last night. she
went on and on describing it ALL in inexplicit detail (with sound
effects). i wanted to yell SHUT UP! but instead i had to excuse myself
to the bathroom to cry a bit. : (

Oh, that's awful! I would have told her nobody wanted to hear it. I mean nobody would want to hear a d* story. I'm sorry you had such a rough morning.

Aww.. sorry you had to hear that hun, I hope you're feeling better now. One of my friends always gets sick when she eats Indian food or drinks too much alcohol (of course she still has both of them regularly ) and often tells me about it the next day or whatever. And I'm like- Why are you telling me this?!

Surely even a non-emet wouldn't really want to hear about vomit in that much detail... I mean we don't come on here and say "Well, when I pooed today it lookedthis and it made this sound..." lol... The only reason to talk about stuff like thatis when you're worried or asking for advice I think... Or if something particularly funny happened. It's hardly the stuff of great conversation though,is it lol

I hope you're feeling ok now. That would have been hard to listen to, but at least you didn't lose it at her.

what's even dumber is that she had to describe it in detail with the noise. I mean, it doesn't bug me, but she'd think that it'd bug ppl... geez... besides, that'sprettyinsulting to talk about your child that way

Hi there!!

What a great start to the day, right?? Oh, I get so mad when people just "have" to tell you their lovely illness stories!!!! And why the detail?? Does anyone really want to know what it sounded like?? Ugh! On this site it's okay, but when coworkers or friends think we all want to hear about how they were up all night v*ing or something it irritates me. I know I'm being a bit too sensitive, and maybe non-emets are okay hearing about it to an extent, but still.......she should have had a little more sensitivity towards others. Even some non-emets could find that kind of disgusting.
Anyways, I hope you're night goes a bit better for you!!
Take care!!!Edited by: christianne

Ugh, how rude!

You were right not to yell at her to shut up, but I would have said something. Perhaps tell her that her story is really upsetting you and ask her to please not be so graphic.
I bet she'd feel embarassed as hell!
