What types of Anti-emetics are there? Prescription? Non-prescription? How do they work? How well do they work?

I'm in the US, and I know different drugs have different names elsewhere -- I'll try to look them up if you're in a different country. The only one I've ever had was a shot that hurt like hell & totally knocked me out!

    Thanks!

    Hi susan

Take a look at this web site, http://www.gut-reaction.freeserve.co...ti-emetics.htm

I came across it a few days ago. out of the anti emetics there i take

    Motilium </span>- Domperidone - over the counter</font>
    Stemetil </span>- Prochlorperazine - prescriptive </font>

I find these great, I'm in Ireland so I'm not sure what it would be in USA.
But it would be easy to find on the net.

    Hope this helps

I have personal experience with Metoclopramide (prescription)never teked dose larger then 10mg. For me this drug do nothing for n* Dimenhydrinate for motion sicknes good only insuch casebut seems tonot work for other n* And atypical antypsychotic Olanzapine (prescription)which isn't drug strictly for nausea, but like manyother potentmajor tranquilizers prabably have strong anti-n* action becouse of D2 antagonism and aditionally in this case srotonin 5-HT3 antagonism just likeexpensive drugsfor severen* (cancer chemoterapy, surgery etc):Ondasteron, Palonosetron etc. If you can't sleep all night becouse of n* and anxiety one dose (5mg) mayhelp....
The names of drugs are names of active substance.
