He had some cereal this morning and I just went to clean up the kitchen. He had finished the gallon of milk and left it sitting on the counter. I opened the jug to speeze the air out of it so it fit in the trash better and it smelled horrible! There was curdled milk in the bottom, all chunky and nasty. I don't know how he could have not noticed! It smelled awful! Unless it curdled after it sat out - is that possible? There wasn't two hours between when he ate and when I threw the jug out. Is that long enough to curdle it? It was still good according to the date on the jug! Is it possible for him NOT to get sick from this? I really don't want him to come home from work v*, but at least I would know what it's from and that it isn't contagious! I guess all I can do now is sit and wait to see if it makes him sick.

It may not make him sick. One time my mum made scrambled eggs and later when I smelled the milk it was AWFUL but she never got sick and she has the worlds most sensitive stomach. So it's possible he won't get sick from this.

Maybe he wont get sick from it. If the milk was turning b4 he drank it, leaving it out for 2 hours maybe just set it over the edge. Perhaps he'll only get a sore stomach or summit. Let us all know if he was alright.

I just talked to him. It's been about 4 hours and he said his stomach is kind of hurting. He had to hang up really quick because a customer came up, so I'm not sure how bad it really is. He may not be telling me because of my emet. I have a feeling it's going to be a long afternoon and evening . . .

As far as I know, people start feeling bad after consuming bad milk in about 30 minutes or 1 hour.

Yikes, silly girl. Hmm..I think he is gonna have tummy ache and possibly milddiarrhea later. Make sure you have Gatorade and bottled water around in case. I don't think he will v*. He would have done it by now. Nice to know he can be careful with you around the emet issue though.

Well, he's still at work. I would think it would have hit by now. He called a little while ago and when I asked how he was he said "okay" and I left it at that. He gets really annoyed of my 20 questions after awhile. I figure if he is still at work, he must not be too bad. Maybe he got lucky. I'm going to be on edge for the next day or so though.

Trust me, don't tell him that the milk might have been spoiled! Sometimes feeling sick is phycological. I know that when my husband tells me that something went bad and I had some of it, I will start to feel that bubbly stomach or n*. He is the same way.

One time a couple of years ago, my husband told me he enjoyed the lunchi made him, the turkey sandwich. only trouble was, i'd made him a roast beef sandwich, and when we figured out when the turkey sandwich was from, it had been at least a week since he'd taken it out of his fridge and put it in his car. it wasn't the heat of summer but it wasn't winter either, and we were both convinced he was going to be sick that night. so we went out for dinner and he said, 'hey if i'm going to puke, i may as well get something tasty first" and he ordered this major pasta with tomato=cream sauce. I couldn't believe his attitude - I'd have been panicking. in fact, i was panicking.

in the end, the sandwich did NOT make him sick. Good luck to your hubby and to you.

no stomachache? Wow... i thought for sure curdled milk would give you some kind of reaction, even if it was just a mild stomachache

For every person who gets sick from that sort of thing there will be another one who has no reaction at all. We as emets just always assume we're in the sick catagory and not the other

Seriously, that helped spark my emet, cuz it made me think that i was more vulnurable

He might end up being fine. My bf put bad milk on his cereal once and didn't feel a a thing. And I agree with everyone above, he'd have felt it by now and at most maybe some pain and d*.

Sorry for not posting! They told us at work that they are tightening up the internet policy and that was when I used to get on most of the time. I haven't been on in a while!

No, he never did v*. He never really felt that bad either. He came home form work that day and ate dinner and was fine. Today he ate some old Spaghetti in the fridge though, so we'll see how that goes . . . he's worse than a little kid, I swear!
