so my little one has the sv! I am freaking out!!!! It started last night around 11, and her last v was around 6. I just had surgery 2 weeks ago, so I am even more scared than usual. I lysoled, but I can't possibly lysol everything in my house. I am scared out of my mind. It has been a while since her last sv...thank goodness, she handled it like a champ.

Most important thing, keep your hands away from your eyes, nose and mouth untill you have washed them well with warm water and soap. SV* is transmitted ONLY via the fecal oral route. It is in the v* too. it does not stay airborune long and will settle on surfaces. Use bleach water to clean surfaces and I use straight bleach in the toilets.

For me, I keep a supply of latex gloves and surical mask on hand when one of the kids are sick. It seems to work. Also keep in mind that they can shed the virus up to two days after the symptoms go away. Have her wash her hands very well especially after using the restroom.

I pray for your protection and good health. let us know how you are doing!

Sorry your daughter is ill, I know how hard it is. Remember, most of us mums here never catch anything. My daughter had a sv a few weeks back and v* for 16 hours. I was fine, and you will be too. Stay strong.

Sorry youare going through this. My son had a horrible sv just over 2 weeks ago, but my daughter and I never caught it. I know how worrying it is though. I hope your little girl is soon feeling better and that you stay well.

you will be fine! But remember to BLEACH everything. Lysol won't work unless she has rotavirus. It doesn't kill norovirus. If you read the label, it tells you which viruses and bacteria it kills, and it lists rotavirus, but not norovirus

yep...it's the flu. The test came back negative, but the doctor said it was the flu. She said we could do blood work to find out for sure, but I have to agree it's the flu. Thanks everyone for replying, now let's hope I stay in the clear!!
