I'm so sorry you're going through this. Is this your first time dealing with this with her? How are you doing? How is she coping? You'll find that very young children are remarkably resilient and bounce back really quickly. Please keep us posted.

Awww, I am so sorry you are having to go through this!!!! My son was just a little older than your daughter when he got his first SV. I feel your pain, I know how hard it is to take care of a child that young with an SV. I know this may sound cle-shay (I have no idea how to spell that word!) but really and truly all you can do is try to remain calm, and keep up the good hygiene, and try to keep her hydrated. Our doctor always tells us to not let our children drink a while lot right after they V. That you need to let their stomach settle some. Also, when you do offer them something to drink, only let them take small sips. I hope Im not rambling too much and that this makes sense .... Have you called her doctor to see what he/she says about what to do? Please keep us posted, I hope that she gets better very soon, and that you and your husband stay well!!!!

Awwww poor baby! I hope she's okay!

My mom used to givemy little brother and IPediaLyte, that juice with electrolytes in it, so it rehydrated us after we were sick. We were only allowed small sips at a time and the juice had to be at room temperature. Once she stops for a while (give about an hour or so), see if she will drink some. If you don't have any Pedialyte, you can give her some room temperature water, but again, only in small sips. Wash any clothes she was wearing when she v* with hot water and lots of soap, use lots of cleaning products and wash your hands lots! You can get through this!

I really hope she gets better!

Sorry to hear your little one is ill. Please don't assume you'll catch this, she's very young and doesn't have your immunity. Also, you seem to be doing all the right things with regards hygiene, which will reduce any risk. My daughter had her sv when she was about 14 months old. I was still breastfeeding her then, and she wanted it ALL the time because she was feeling so sorry for herself. I let her feed as much as she wanted and despite the closeness, I didn't catch anything, even though her dad did!

Well done on coping. Hope she's better soon, and do let us all know how you get on.

Just keep her hydrated! Does she have diarrhea?

My 100% breastfed baby has had more frequent poops for 7 days. The peds office said there is an intestinal virus going around that is lasting 14 days. I am not convinced she is sick though. I think we have over issues going on.

I hate it when the kids are sick. They only thing you can do is what you are doing. Hang in there!

I am so sorry to hear that your baby girl is sick.

I have three children myself they are older now 16, 15 and 10, and I always ask myself how I made it through, some how we do. Even though it may not be easy now that she's sick, it will be alright.

Hopefully you won't catch what ever it is. Stay strong!!!

Thanks so much ladies! She hasn't v* since about 12:30, and it's 5:00 here now...She doesn't have d* or a fever...I gave her 4 oz of pedialite and 4 crackers about a half hour ago, and so far so good! Thank the Lord!

I am starting to wonder if it's not the sv* afterall...I really hope NOT! This moring I started her on a soy drink the doctor wanted me to give her, cause they think she is lactose intolerant...She didn't like it and only took about 3 oz, butI am wondering if that could have done it, she also had bannanas for the the first time...I don't know, why do you guys think? Thanks again!!

I am glad your little girl is feeling better. I seem to remember my niece having a similiar reaction to soy milk. She had Lactose intolerance too. It may have been the new drink which disagreed with your daughter. I hope she is over the worst now and that you stay well.

She ended up only v*ing four times within an hour yesterday, and ate later on and was fine...I am hoping it was NOT a sv*..Of course I am really freaking out now though, I hate this waiting game!!

If she tried 2 new foods that day, it very well could have been one of those that upset her tummy. Maybe she has an intolerance to one of those. Have you asked her doctor about a possible food allergy?

Thank you I haven't asked yet, but I think I am going to call on Monday and see!
