So I posted the other day about my mom and her sv, then my baby nephew caught it, then my little sister caught it early yesterday morning, so it is HIGHLY contagious. My mother raised 4 kids and NEVER caught a sv--she's had 2 or 3 since she started teaching elementary school. Well, my neighbor's 11 yr. old daughter comes over here for an hour after after school every day, well yesterday her step dad called to say that he was picking her up early and that he had to go over to the elementary school because their younger 2 kids were in the nurse's office w/ stomachaches. Well, this morning, the 7 year old came over here to wait for school, because as she put it, "My brother is sick. he threw up yesterday". So now something is going on right here in the neighborhood. I don't want her here!!!!!! Germs. germs. germs.

    What state are you in?

I know it's going around in our City(Birmingham AL)...To quote a doctor, "It's nasty and highly contagious".

I just want to stay inside my bubble

How did your Mom get it? Or did your Mom pass it to the other ones by cooking for them when she wasn't past it?

I am in Kansas City. We really don't know how the baby caught it, he doesn't share a bathroom or anything with anyone and my mom stayed in her room while she was sick, except to wash some soiled clothes. My sister caught it from the baby, she watched him for a little while on Sat. when he was the sickest. I just really didn't want the neighbor girl over here, touching things in my house. I called their dad, since her brother is only 10 and is sick at home by himself--yes, apparently he v'ed more than just the one time last night. The dad says that he's fine, except for when he actually has to v*. THat he's his "normal, happy-go-lucky" self, so this IS NOT the same virus that my family had, because they were all miserable with chills and body aches and everything. SO now I have 2 to worry about. I thought for sure it would be winding down soon because 3 weeks ago Logan's frien;ds little sister had a nasty one, then over Tahnksgiving the friend got sick, so I thought for sure it would have cleared out!! I made Logan drink an Airborne before school and I think I am going to make her every day!!!

I am just a wreck, I thought last year was bad enough, Logan caught 3 svs last year, Haley and I had 1 and Greg had 2!!! I just pray I get a reprieve, for just one year. I have a friend whose kids RARELY catch anything!! One of her son's caught one 2 yrs. ago(that Haley got, too at her b-day party) and then her other son caught one from her last year, but he never actually v'ed or anything, he just felt sick for a day. Why can't I be that lucky??????

Oh no, I hope your son is alright. I know how you feel with all these horrible bugs around. I took my daughter for her swimming lesson tonight and another mum took great pleasure in telling me how her son had been v*ing for 2 days. and a boy in my daughter's class was sent home v*ing yesterday. I really hope your son is o.k. and that you all stay well.

We had concession duty at a basketball game at our childrens school tonight and I was talking with my sons teacher (whose son is in my oldest daughters class) and the teacher and her family are going on a cruise this week. A Carnival cruise no less. Isnt that the cruise line that has had so much Norwalk on it here lately? I hope and pray that they do not bring anything back!!!!

Hopefully you and the entire family will go unscathed this year. Whatever happens, I know you'll do fine. You're strong. Just keep up thehand washingand try to take your mind off of it.

I'm trying!! Luckily, Aidan only had the poops twice, but he did have a fever last night! ANd today, Logan felt really congested and yucky so she didn't want to go to school, so that's one day of feeling like she's less likely to catch something!!
