I really don't know what's going on with me. I haven't felt right all week. Monday I had a gnawing stomach ache, Tuesday I had d*, and for the rest of the week I just haven't felt right. About an hour ago it felt like the whole of my digestive tract (in my stomach and all the way down my intestines) would not stop gurgling! It's so infuriating. I keep feeling like there's gas trapped inside me and I don't know how to get rid of it (except for thethe obvious ... methods which don't help all that much by the way!) I ate my dinner, now I feel like I need to go to toilet ... but I really don't want to go, as I went only a couple of hours ago, and going more than once a day is "abnormal" for me ... therefore I think there's something wrong! I've just been under so much pressure at uni, also my grandad is critically ill in hospital right now ... on top of that is this PHOBIA. I just want to go home but I've still got a week left in uni. I haven't been eating properly because of this fear but I forced my dinner down me today.

Oh dear, this turned into a bit of a rant. But uhm ... my original point is - how can I get rid of this trapped wind/gurgly feeling? It's really uncomfortable. I'm really starting to consider IBS - but don't want to go to the horrible germ-filled doctor!

IBS might be the issue and you might have had a slight touch of something. I recommend that you either eat some yogurt with active cultures in it (the good bacteria) and if you are not a fan of that take some asodopholus (sp?). Could be gas as well especially if you are empty from not eating as much. lay on your left side for relief and take simethicone gas tablets if it does not improve.

As emets, our nerves hype up the smallest GI upset rather its pathological or psycological.

Do make sure you keep your fluid levels up and do eat small amounts but frequently. Let me know how you feel. Contact your Dr. if you are not beeter soon, just to be safe

I've had Activia in the past and it was really tasty, so perhaps I'll try that again. I've never tried any sort of gas medicine because I'm sure I read on one of the packets at some point that it could cause stomach upset - dreaded words, I'm sure you'll agree!

It's just so draining to feel like this all the time. I used to enjoy eating but at the moment it's such a trial. Luckily I'm so tired at the moment that I'm not having too much trouble sleeping. I'm not getting *too* panicky about this ... it's just SO uncomfortable and annoying!
