Sometimes I just get a real tight feeling like my throat is constricting, and also in my chest it will feel all tight, and I'll feel like I'm about to gag but I just hold my breath and freeze till the urge passes, and then I am usually okay, sometimes it happens several times but its never resulted in me getting sick. It just freaks me out. I dont know if this is just a sign of panic or what. Do others get this? Is it to do with anxiety or is there something wrong? I've never really had acid reflux problems, so I don't think its that.

EWWW, I hate that! I get it too, just never knew exactly how to describe it! I have no clue what causes it, but it's yucky.

I do too-especially when I eat at a resteraunt. I'm sure it's anxiety.

Yes, I know what you mean. I've gotten this, too and it's what I think a physical symptom of bad anxiety. Do you notice if it happens more when you eat away from home? I only get it away from home where I might feel uncomfortable. Edited by: ginger_saves

Related to what you describe, I also hate when out of nowhere my mouth
starts watering, like it does before one v*s. It doesn't happen
to me often, but when it does, I go into a full-fledged panic and grab
a mint. That's one reason I try not to ever, EVER overeat.
The last time the watering happened was one night this past summer when
I ate too fast and too much. I think that episode set off my
latest string of emet episodes, of which are finally tapering down.
