Ok, so Saturday night we had Xmas Eve at my mom and dad's. My brothers showed up and we had a GREAT time. My older brother works at the VA hospital in Madison. Well, he said that there was a Norovirus outbreak and he was saying how he never got it...a lot of people that he worked with had it!!! ACK! STRIKE 1 for my emet!

Monday night we were back at Mom and Dad's for another Xmas thingy...my younger brother wasn't there cause him and his girlfriend were sick with the stomach flu! I had just seen them 2 days prior!! I asked himon the phoneif he v* and he said "Well, I didn't." Strike 2!!!

That same night at my mom and dad's we were sitting down to eat dinner and my uncle said "Where's Alex?" (my cousin) and my aunt said he was in the bathroom. Well he FINALLY came out and he grabbed like a roll and some crackers on his plate and my aunt said "how's your stomach ache?" I stopped eating and went and sat on the couch....he seemed fine but maybe he just had a normal tummy ache or something....? STRIKE 3

So, I can't get a sv* from my bro who was exposed to the norovirus from work? I can't get a sv from my other bro or his GF even though I was with them Saturday night and the sv* on Monday? And my cousin probably just had a tummy ache of some sort. AM I GOING TO BE OK???? I'm sooo scared but I am still stuffing my face with junk food (LOL)

I am soooo afraid of the sv* right now!
I CAN get through this! ♥Melanie♥

Ok...let's see three good things here.

    1) You were not around them when they started showing symptoms, so no worry there. You can't catch it from someone before they have it.

    2) You are eating. Even if it is junk food, it's still helping your body stay strong to fight off anything you might encounter.

    3) You did not let emet stop you from being with your family and enjoying the holidays.

Try to be calm and not work yourself into a panic. Stay positive~your body will thank you for it.

I totally agree. Good job. Don't worry because I know its scary but it
will be fine...no exposure. Someone called me at work today to cancel
their massages because "he got the stomach flu in the night" Then she
procceeds to tell me "we can try to make it, but i dont know if he will
be okay" I was like NO, dont come becuase it will only make him
sicker to be massaged...eww liek massaging all the v* out...SCARY!!!!
    Anyways...
    I love Sam

nicki - just a correction that you can catch it from people before they show symptoms of it. That's why it's so contageous. People shed the virus in their stool while it's incubating, for 24-48 hours. So 2 days tops.

Nevertheless, no matter how long or how much you're around someone who has it, you can't get it unless you don't wash your hands and you put them in your mouth or up your nose.
