Not sure about that one. From past experience, I think if you are severly ill nothing is going to keep you from v* except maybe a shot of Zofran. My dtr has had sv in the past and I have given her phenergansuppositoriesand they did not stop the v* at all.

Norovirus is a viral infection, not poisonous or toxic so I really don't think anyone could die by not v*ing when infected with it. The kid may have become severely dehydrated and died from that instead---that seems a more likely possibility.

I'm sure it is safe to take the phenergan---many people have taken it and have been perfectly fine. Dads seem to have some very strange ideas, don't they?? Mine told me that deodorants clog up your pores and lead to skin cancer--that's why he refuses to wear any EVER. That explains why he always has lethal BO!!

I have never heard anything like this. To my knowledge, if you have a sv and do not v*, it will just go out the other end.
Sounds like an urban legend to me.

Death by norwalk goes against everything I have ever heard about this virus. Could it have been some reaction to the antiemetic? That sounds plausible.

i heard that the v* is just a reaction to the virus, almost like the virus tells the body to do it, and that the body doesn't v* to get rid of it and if you don't v*, it doesn't mean the virus will last longer in the body... idk if that makes sense... i'm half asleep and idk how to get my point across lol... goodnight.

A virus like Norwalk attacks the small intestine and causes a condition called gastroenteritis (spelling?) or inflammation of the stomach lining. If your stomach lining is inflammed, naturally it cannot tolerate being in use (holding food). In my opinion, v* would seem to be the body's attempt to relieve itself of the pain. Everything I've heard agrees with the idea that v* does not expell the virus or shorten the duration. It is a natural reaction to the virus but not a necessary part of recovery. Many people don't v* with Norwalk or v* only once and they still recover.

I've only heard of Norwalk death being caused by severe dehydration and not toxins.

It has been proven that v* does no good in expelling toxins from the body due to fp* or sv*

Maybe it was an allergic reaction...OR it's just an urban ledgend!

If you went to hospital because you were being sick with Norwalk I bet anything they would give you an anti emetic as well as fluids to rehydrate you. There is no evidence except some guy telling you this, don't believe everything you hear lol
Be courageous, believe in yourself, and be the best woman you can be. I'm with you all the way.
