    Hey!

As some of you know I went on Celexa a couple of weeks ago...well, my doctor put me on 15 mg and wanted to wean me on, I'm on 10 right now, i would go up but i dont have enough pills to go up yet. Anyway, it really doesn't seem to be working. I don't really sense any difference, and I haven't had any side effects at all. that kind of makes me think that maybe it's not the medicine, but i just need a higher dosage...has anyone experienced this before? How would I talk to my doctor and see what to do? I mean, whats the point of paying a crapload for meds if they don't even work, you know?

    <3 Anya--
PM me for contact info such as skype, email, or facebook. Thanks!

    Hey Anya,

Your doc is doing the right thing.I am on Zoloft and I was weaned on too starting at 25 mg, then 50 then 100. I didn't get any side effects either, that's why my Doc did it that way to minimize the side effects and I thought it may not be working. It does take up to 8 weeks for the medication to be at its full strength in your system. Be patient IT WILL BE WORTH IT! My anxiety is soooo much better, I am happier and calmer. You will notice the difference.

Sometimes it is trial and error.I was lucky Zoloft was the first medI was put on. Talk to your doc and tell him you don't feel any difference and could he increase your dose. He may do that or he may try you on something diferent. Make sure you get the generic version of the meds, its cheaper and they work just as well!

Do remember, also, that when you are put on a medication, it can take a month or longere for you to really start FEELING it woring. Starting off at a lower dose is a good way for the doctor to evaluate how it affects you. If you start off at a larger dose, you may experience side effects and you have no where to go if you find out that dose isn't large enough. I wish my own doctor had started me off like that! I didn't know any better at the tme and suffered enormously with the side effects.

    Good luck!

Yes, my shrink told me it could take up to six months to feel the full effects of medication. I was discouraged at first, but he told me after the first month, it would only get better from there. Good for you for being proactive about your mental health! I need to go back myself......Janna

Normally it takes a month to start noticing a difference. And 10 mg is indeed a very low dose. Perhaps your dr. is being sensitive to your phobia and not wanting you to experience nausea. I'd suggest you talk to him about your concerns!
