My 9 year old is complaining of a headache on the top of her head and
it hurts to touch it. It started a few hours ago. She also says she is
n* and not hungry. She has emet, and said she thinks she is just
worried about it. She also said she woke up with a sore throat, but it
has not hurt since this morning. I very rarely get headaches, so I
don't know what it could be. Do migraines usually hurt on the top of
the head and to the touch? Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

My migraines always hurt above one eye.. but DEFINITELY hurt to the touch and cause me to feel extremely n*. The best thing for a migraine is to put her in a hot bath and put a hot washcloth over her eyes and head. She could possible be sensitive to light and sound.. so no music or anything like that. Did she take anything??

    Orget some Head On.

    I swear that stuff works.

Today I purchased some ActiveOn for my menstrual cramps...That worked also.

I hope your girl feels better!

No, it is very hard to get her to take anything unless I make her. I am
really going to encourage her to take something for the pain. I feel
really bad because I am so worried she is going to be s* and am having
a panic attack. Although, I think I am doing a good job of comforting
her and not letting that show. I need to get a grip. Since she needs to
take a shower tonight, I will have her take a bath instead. Thanks for
    your advice.

No, It's a cream...It's in a tube and you rub it on your head...

I don't take anything because of my Emet...

Go to Walgreens...I'm telling ya'll, this stuff works!

They have HeadOn, ActiveOn and one other...just can't remember the name.

So far the ActiveOn is wayyyyyyy better than the HeadOn.

I just might use the ActiveOn on my head when I get headaches...

Just try not to worry.. my migraines hurt soo bad I am in bed all day and I honestly think mine couldn't hurt any worse. I have never gotten sick because of them though.. just make sure she doesn't get dehydrated because that is what happened to me the last time I had a migraine. It makes your head hurt about 10 times worse. Yeah a hot bath really really helps me.. breathing in the steam and just relaxing willmakeher feel better.

Um stupid question, but did she hit her head on anything? Obviously that'd be the most obvious reason for it to hurt to the touch.

I don't know if you need to worry about migraines unless she's showing sensitivity to light. According to my mom you can't even stand to be in a normal amount of light.

No, she didn't hit her head or anything. She was asking me to look at
the top of her head because she keeps saying it hurts on the outside,
not the inside. She is in the bath and seems to be feeling better.

If the warm of the bath doesnt help, you can try cold. I get tons of headaches and quite a few migraines. Sometimes if I put an ice pack on my head or go outside (when it is cold) for a few minutes, it really helps. I hope she feels better soon!

Thanks, she is feeling better but still complains that her head hurts
when she moves. I'll try the ice pack if it gets bad again!

You could be right about it being a sinus headache because she woke up
with a cold. Her head still hurts when she stands up. Maybe I'll get
    some vapor rub...thanks!
