Okay, I posted before on how my 6 month old baby girl had a small bout with a sv* that she must have picked up from the baby sitters. I haven't been able to sleep or really eat anything because I have been panic stricken that the others would get the sv* too. I have a 5 yr old son and an almost 2 yr old daughter, and my husband living together too.Annaliese (baby) was ill on Tuesday night... Wednesday, nothing, then Thursday night, I was getting DS ready for bed. He kept complaining of a 'tummy ache'.. I immediatly started panicking, having cold sweats, worried that he would v*... sure enough, he ran downstairs and v* in the kitchen. He kept on v* every 30 minutes until like 2:00 am. THEN my daughter wakes up around 3:00 am, AND SHE V* in her bed!!! At this point I was crying, and could hardly contain my stiff, fear stricken body. She continued to get sick until around 7:00... THANKFULLY it was a very short bout for both kids and they recovered nicely. THEN my husband told me his stomach was 'sour' and sure enough ALL last night he was sick, but again, very short lived and I was so so so so exhausted from being up literally all night the evening before that I AMAZINGLY slept through him getting up. Normally I would have to go downstairs and sleep on the couch if I EVER knew he was getting a sv*.. in fact if I wasn't soo exhausted, I would have probably went to a hotel for the night ... I think what I learned from this, is that even when I was tested to the absolute BRINK of insanity, I survived and everyone is better. AND I didn't catch it... BONUS!!!! I can tell you that I have literally lost 5 pounds from not eating or sleeping. This has been the absolute worst last few days I can EVER remember.

You coped really well, what a nightmare. I have had a lot of sickness in the house over the last few weeks so I can sympathise, but it passes and we survive. In fact my emet improves temporarilyafter someone has been ill.

Wow. I feel so bad that you all had to go through that. It really sounds like you handled it very well though. It makes me feel so much better to know that when the time comes it is possible to handle it. And not get sick. I don't have kids yet and taking care of them when they are ill w/ a sv is probably my biggest fear. Take care of yourself and rest up.

No, I don't think the others caught it from the babysitter, because Annaliese was the only one there , everyone is much better today, I am still really really shaken up over the whole ordeal. Every time I go into a room where v*ing took place, I have these aweful flashbacks and I can't get it off my mind. I am still not sleeping well out of fear that somehow IT will come back..ugh this is terrible..I am just very happy to have everyone better, for now

I know exactly how you feel. My dtr had it about a week and a half ago, and I swear I could smell "it" at random times!

My nightmare too! You did awesome, better than I would have. I guess if it doesn't kill you, it does make you stronger in some way, right? Hope all is well now...
