Hi,
Does anyone know the answers to this? My daughter woke up sick with flu this morning. She was sleeping in our bed then got up and got sick. Can we get the virus by breathing her air before she got sick ? Or is it just touching the mess and not washing hands. Also, someone said lysol says on the back it kills norovirus, but I can't find that anywhere on the can. Does it or doesn't it? Anyone know? Lastly, if my daughter is done getting sick, is it safe for me to hold her and be near her without catching it? Thanks so much!

Hi, I am sorry to hear your daughter is sick. How is she feeling now? No, you can't get it by breathing the same air as she is and yes, you can hold her and be near her without catching it. Just make sure that she is clean and has no residue on her. Just to be safe, do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth. I have done this with my daughter and always end up being fine (knock on wood). I also wipe the bathroom down with bleach and anything she may have touched after she was sick.

I really hope she feels better soon. Sounds like she is pretty young?

Im sorry your little one is sick!

I am not sure that Lysol kills norovirus. When we are sick over here I use a bleach solution to clean (places that I can use it). As far as laundry, use hot water and your laundry detergent.

I would cuddle your daughter as much as she wanted to be cuddle!!

Thanks so much! She still isn't feeling well, but she isn't Thr...ing up anymore. Now I just have to wait it out to see if anyone else gets it. My husband is good to take care of the kids, but he is NOT careful about touching barf pails etc. then touching doorhandles. THATS my big concern. I try to keep up, but I just don't knoiw if thats totally possible.
Again, thanks for well wishes and advise.

It sounds like the worst is over Hope she's feeling better soon. I agree with everything susieq said. Hand washing is your biggest defense! I don't think Lysol kills it....but bleach is good.

Yes, there was a post on here way back when that Lysol has the ingredients that kill sv*. I use the Clorox wipes to wipe down door handles, etc. I usebleach to clean the bathroom during illness.
