Hi everyone.
My name's Katherine (as you might have been able to guess) and I'm an 18 year old emetophobe.

I'm very nervous about getting s*, but TERRIFIED of seeing others get s* and whatnot. I've made some progress; I'm a hospice worker, and I have been able to deal with a couple of situations with people getting s*, but really, it's dying people who haven't eaten much, so it's really not that bad.

I've had this phobia ever since I can remember. I can't go see movies like normal people and I'm scared to go onto planes, trains, and buses. Soon I will be going to India (have to go) and who knows WHAT I'll see!

I really would like to get over this phobia, or at least learn some techniques to deal with it for when I go to India and then college (drinking and all that). I've already made sure that I'm in the strict, no-party, 24 hour quiet dorm and I'm no where NEAR the b-room, but I need to be careful!

Anyways, I'm so glad that I've found this forum so I can finally start to overcome my phobia. I'm interested in any advice you have to share. Nice to meet you all

im new also and i know how you feel...im not the kind of person to not go in public and not go on planes bc of it..which ppl think is really weird..but i am EXTREMELY terrified to v* but i think you being able to have that job is a lot better than i can do. i guess im not as scared of seeing other ppl get s* as i am myself bc i can avoid that a lot easier. but i have realized lately a lot of it is in your head and positive thinking is hard to do but it really does work. this site will help a lot..i know it has me!
it helps to know there are many ppl out there just like you

Really, I'm going to a small liberal arts college in PA. But it's NOT unique to that place. There are a LOT of smaller colleges that are just as good (or even better) than universities, and you can request to have a 24 hour quiet room.

Now, my hall happens to be co-ed (no problem) but 24 hour quiet and no substances. Because the people there are a little older (no freshmen), people who go there don't party, so I won't have to see anyone being s*.

Check out liberal arts schools if you haven't. Many offer this dorming option and I think it's great.

Thanks for welcoming me everyone!
It's so nice to know that I'm not the only one with this issue.Edited by: _katherine
