It's ironic that I live in a country where food and wealth are abundant and yet I have a malnutrition that children in poor developing countries have. The difference is that I choose, due to my fear, not to eat and they don't have enough to eat.

I often wonder if the glutonous, overeating, supersizing attitude of food in the United States plays into my emetophobia. I'm curious as to how many people in countries with limited access to food suffer with indigestion or that bloated-nausea related overeating feeling. Edited by: centipede

Sorry I didn't see this thread sooner... We learned about the Plumpynut in my social science class. I think that it would probably benefit emets who suffer from 'fake anorexia' (I say fake because usually we're afraid to get sick, not worried about our image). I was always interested in it because I have a very hard time putting on weight and besides having fine hair all over (such a weird side effect of underweight-ness), my blood pressure is so low that I sometimes pass out. It sounds like such a healthy food too!

As for overeating in this country, have you seen Supersize Me? I would not advise any sensitive emets to see it, but it was so informative.
