so i’ve had my period for 10 days now.

What the hell. I was on penicillen for my wisdom teeth, tommorow it will have been 3 weeks since I started the penicillen (when I got the wisdoms out), I finished the penicillen awhile ago, but I got my period on the 3rd when I was supossed to get it on the 13/14th (Which would be tommorow) so I think I'm just going to have a huge long period. The pharmacist told me to keep taking my BC and that it would work itself out, but this is ridiculous, I'm going to have a two week period if not longer.


Is this normal? I'm going to my dentist tommorow, so she can look at my teeth, and I'm kind of irriated that no one told me that my BC would interact with the meds. It said "extra monitoring" should be taken when on BC and peniccilen on the paper I got with those meds.

Since you are on BC, and you were taking antiobiotics, that is going to mess up your system. Best thing to do is to check with your doctor. I'm not on BC, but when I do need to take antibiotics, it messes me up too. It really sucks. My periods last for 8 days too. Take care and call your doctor. [img]smileys/smilies_01.gif[/img]

i have actually had a similar thing - but i think it was coz i forgot to take a pill - so my body thought it was ready for a period and started bleeding - about a week before. but it did sort itself out - just keep taking the pill - but use extra protection! just keep taking it as usual with the gap/or not depending on which one u take.

if not then i guess asking your doc wouldnt harm.

Did you start a new pack yet? If you have and you're still bleeding, I would call the doctor, just to make sure that there isn't anything to worry about. If you've not started a new pack, start it right away, as the hormones will stop the bleeding! Also, remember that if you haven't started a new pack, you're not covered as far as pregnancy, so use a back up method! Good luck!
