I'm in Ohio and we are getting all kinds of heavy rain from Ivan. Well the main road is completely flooded because of the creek nearby. My mom luckily got home before the worst of it came. My brother was on his way home from work and they wouldnt let him through. So he turned around to head to my Aunt Sandys house but there was a tree down and a power line and it was sparking. So he headed to my other aunts house. My cousin called about 2:30 PM. He was let out of school an hour early (as were many other schools) but all the students were stuck there because buses weren't running. His mom picked him up and they are stuck at his sisters house. They live right next door to us and there is no way they can get home. And then there is me. I'ma nervous wreck. I'm always scared of heavy rains and flooding because we are stuck in this house. There is NO WAY we are getting ANYWHERE. And I'm petrified I'll become deathly ill--like a heart attack or a seizure, and the emergency vehicle won't be able to get to me. I'm so paranoid. Luckily the power is still on and the internet. And thank God we are ona hill. We are getting some water in our basement somehow but it's only to our ankles and its draining into our drains. Cats aren't liking it and the room we just built down there is getting nasty. Anyways, I feel bad for the people getting the worst of this storm. We are only getting rain and it's hectic.

    *Hugs* sweetie

You know the only reason you are freaking is because you are stuck, happened to me many many times before, not the same situation, but you have to remind yourself that you are fine and that nothing will happen to you, its any normal day of the week and its raining, big deal!

Go ahead and keep telling yourself that because you are absolutely fine, trust me.

Be strong for those that cannot get home and be thankful you are and that everybody you love is safe, that the important thing. So stop thinking that because you can't go anywhere that this is the night that something horrible is going to happen to you because it won't....Have I said it enough yet????

    Trust in yourself!

Now go get buckets and get that basement cleaned up, young lady!!!!!!! LOL

Let me know how you are doing

Feeling like you can't escape is a scary feeling. But you're young and I'm fairly certain you're not going to have a heart attack. Try and relax and calm yourself down. Flooding is a nasty thing, we experience them here in North Dakota on a yearly basis due to the FLAT land here. You just have to be patient and wait for the water to receed and then start cleaning up. Just don't drive thru standing water on the road or walk in any flooded area and you'll be just fine.

Well as soon as I got done typing the power went out. Was without power ALL night and we didnt have water either. My brother and I walked down to where the water was and there is a little Carryout food store about a ten minute walk from our house. Right in front of there the whole road collapsed. The hole is about 100 feet or more. Its not even a hole. The road washed away and the water is where the road used to be. Power lines snapped in half. It's a mess. We took pictures all day today. Thankfully the power is back on.

I was so scared last night. Went to bed at 12:00 and woke up at 3:15 nauseous. Took an Atarax and managed to fall asleep. Well, I'm off now. Bye
