ITS A BOY!!!

This evening at 5:38 P.M Kentucky time I officiallybecame "Auntie Raquel"
    (
Well... I'm not an aunt in the "technical" sense... but my best friend had her baby and that's what he's gonna call me!)

Connor Vaughn came into this world beautiful, healthy and weighing a whopping 8 lbs. 4 ounces... which, if you don't know the American weight system... that's pretty good sized! Amazingly... though everyone had been saying she'd go WAY early and she's been dilated to two for weeks he waited until his exact due date to make his appearance (Guess he wanted to prove us all wrong... he SURE did!)

His mommy had a bit of a tough time and his delivery was not the best (he got caught in the birth canal and it was a very scary situation for a little while), but he's here and wonderful and we are all SO proud of my friend who did it all with NO epidural! She wasquite nauseousbecauseit all was starting to fast(very weak tummy) and they gave her phenigren which pretty much put her out for several hours and make her feel MUCH better... but other than that she did it COMPLETELY natural and her biggest complaint was that she was so dang hungry. She never moaned or screamed or even cried from pain... I have a newfound respect for that girl!

But I just had to gush...she's the first to get married and have a baby so it's pretty exciting!

    wink

Giving up doesn\'t always mean that we are weak. Sometimes it just means that we are strong enough to let go.

Aerodynamically the bumblebee shouldn\'t be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn\'t know that so it goes on flying anyway.

Woohooo - new babies are the best. My brother has two daughters - unfortunately he and I don't see eye to eye, so I don't see them very often, but they're cool anyway!!!

Congratulations!!! That's great news. I'm due to have my baby in about 5-6 weeks, so I know how exciting it can all be.
