I have not been on in a while as I thought everything was going great for me... then I have a lapse
I have lost 2 stone in weight (28 lbs) and now weigh a measly 7 stone.
I have started having panic attacks again after getting msyelf sorted.
I went to the docs 10 months ago to get sorted out. He stuck me on antidepressants which made me really ill. I was nauseous all the time, my panic attacks were worse than ever... that bad I even went a&e. I couldn;t go outside without feeling anxious or panicking.
I got depressed and nearly suicidal.
Went docs and he said this was normal... so I stayed on them for 5 months.
I went cold turkey after he said he wanted to keep me on them, I know it was bad but I really couldn;t cope!
Anyway I got alot better, the panic and anxiety went and I felt great.
Until recently... I had alot of stress and bad things going on and I ended up losing too much weight and now... I am having panic attacks.
I just can't cope with this anymore... I'm breaking apart in everyway and don't know what to do. I'm scared to eat incase im ill...
And yes right at this moment I am feeling ill.

I just don't know where to turn, no one like doctors are listening to me.

right now you probably don't feel well because you're
hungry. eat some saltines, dry toast and try drinking some
apple juice or sprite first because it will trick your stomach
into thinking there is something in it and you will feel less
hungry and less ill almost right away. (don't drink water
because it is harder on your stomach than sprite or apple
juice, plus the calories in the juice is what you need) then
put some soft, easy food in your stomach and that should
help with the immediate problem of feeling ill.

and sometimes these things just get worse for a while, but
then they get better again. something that helps me the
most is distraction, watch a good movie or read a book
that will occupy your mind so you arent thinking about
being sick. (i recommend the princess bride. the book or
the movie, both are emet friendly. well in the beginning of
the movie the boy has a cold or something, i don't know if
that will bother you. he coughs, but he is fine and will not
    v*)

then try a different doctor, some are better listeners than
others. most will not ask you to stay on a med that is
making you worse- the reaction may be normal but it is
not helping you and the doctor needs to find something
    that will help you.

i hope you feel better soon!!!

rentaduckie's spot on - you need to eat something, it'a a vicious cycle you don't eat cos you're scared of getting ill but the hunger actually makes you genuinely feel ill.

It seems common with emet to have big ups and down with steady bits in between.

Over the years i've gone from living on meal replacement drinks and cream crackers and housebound with crippling panic attacks to being able to go on 15 hours flights and drinking in crowded bars etc. Righ tnow i'm somewhere in between, i'm eating (too much actually..) but getting comulsive with cleaning again.

I think it's just how it goes, just remember that this is just a lapse and you WILL get back to how you were feeling when you didn't feel the need to come here for a while.

I'd see a different GP and enquire about alternative drugs and maybe some therapy if you feel ready for that?

Keep your chin up you will be fine x

With anxiety remember breathing exercises, also some common sleeping pills can be helpful, such as Nytol. This contains Diphenhydramine hydrochloride which is an antihistamine, antiemetic, sedative, and hypnotic. The antiemetic should help with nausea, also relax you and your anxiety. Its a lot lighter than Valium and other benzodiazepines. You can buy Nytol from Boots and other pharmacies.

It might also be worth going to see your GP and asking for some nutritional drinks or powders, if you really cant eat normal food.

    Hope that helps,

    Piers

Definitely find a new GP, someone that will listen. Just because someone is an MD doesn't mean they're good! Perhaps try a different medicine....sometimes you have to find the right one for you. An maybe some therapy tooan to get to the root of the problem and learn some coping techniques. I just started therapy and I'm glad I did.
