Sorry to bother you all again, but i thought I would share my latestexperience with you.
Well, a couple of weeks ago, I put an ad in my newsagents for part time work, and it just so happens that I've started babysitting for a family down my street. I must have done about 5 nights now, and the money is really gud.
However the first night I had every emet's nightmare!!
I babysit for a 5 year old girl and her 18 month old brother. Now the children's mum had given us sweets and crisps and stuff to snack on in the evenings. I wasn't particularly hungry but the little girl devoured it all in one sitting.
I went out of the room and came back in for her to tell me that she had felt "sick come up ". At this point, I am weak with nerves because she's asking me to phone her daddy, and she's obviously worried about getting sick.
I distract her attention, by getting her ready for bed, and then as soon as i tuck her in, she complains of feeling hot.
At this point im really freaking out, because she won't stay in bed, and she keeps walking the stairs complaining of tummy ache.
Eventually, I got her sitting on the loo with a wet tissue, absolutely cacking myself thinking she has over done it.
It ended up with me phoning her parents early, and them having to come back from their church meeting. I felt really bad, but I was sure she was going to be sick, and any babysitter would have phoned the parents by this stage. ( i think lol )
Anyway, the past 4 nights have been a dream.. and her mum has reassured me that she's a drama queen, and a damn good actress lol
I remember coming home that night thinking, never ever again. But I'm carrying on with it, to see what levels i can cope with. I'm actually quite enjoying it, but it's reassuring to know that kids can be sick and bounce back.
