Hello Everyone...

Now I'm just here writing to you and all my body shakes.
I have a hudge ansiety problem now, because lately in my life I had so much stress and also my mom went to live in another city, so... Panic Atacks got me so bad!

I feel like my body all shakes inside and feel afraid of other people to get close to me fearing that they will gonna say something that will make me more nervous... and than... Panick Atack again.

This is HORRIBLE.
And.. when I have a bad panic atack, nausea comes so strong, that i feel I can't stand it.
Could me worse, of course... I'm not v*... Thanks Lord.
But is VERY SCARY.

Also, I have this trip to do... in about 13 days... that I'll have to fly (inside of an airplane, of course). Is 2 hours flying, but I'm so so terrified...

I'm having medication now, but... they will start to run on my body in 20 days.

Please guys, help me.
I need you all more than ever.

Thank you all and sorry for my bad english... I'm from Brazil/São Paulo.

Shirley

You know, a lot of psychologists believe that Agoraphobia/panic symptoms can be related to a fear of the loss of one's mother, so keep that in mind. Sometimes knowing where your fear is coming from can help you to keep it in check.

About the flight: I am not sure what kind of medication you are on, but maybe you can talk to your doctor and get them to prescribe you a sedative, like Ativan or Xanax, that you can take before your flight. It will help a LOT with your anxiety, trust me. But it is only meant to be taken in situations of anxiety, or during a bad panic attack, not necessarily every day.

Anyway, prepare yourself beforehand, and you will be okay. Maybe pack some motion sickness medication, peppermint (it is great for nausea), and anything else that will make you feel more at ease. And keep in mind that you are not going to v*, it is just the anxiety making you feel this way. Good luck.

I get bad n* when I panic too. I know it's hard, but try to relax as much as you can. Fighting the feelings will only increase the adrenaline your body is putting out and make the panicky feeling last longer.

I agree with taking some motion sickness meds before your flight. They will at least give you one less thing to worry about, and most make you sleepy and might help you relax.

Hi fitamia!
Even I take Ativan (Lorazepam - a tranquilizer) when I fly! It makes you soooooooo calm! Really!

And I've flown a lot - and NEVER have I seen anyone sick on a plane. I know it happens, but not to emetophobic people, trust me. And I don't think it happens any more than if you went to a theatre or any other place with over a hundred people. It's rare.

You WILL be fine. Keep telling yourself, "I am NOT in any danger." Your brain is fooling you into thinking you're in danger, but you are NOT!

Warmly,
Sage
