Somewhere, I read that probiotics can shorten the duration of gastro illnesses when you catch them.

Has anyone heard of that before?

I know that probiotics are good for your immune system..i just didn't know how goo!

I'll be shoving back yogurt everyday now.

Yes, probiotics are good for your gastrointestinal tract. They also recommend eating prebiotics (things like legumes, leafy greens, and strawberries, of all things) that help the probiotics thrive and do their thing. The probiotics kick out the "bad guys" so to speak. I give my children yogurt or kefir whenever they get sore tummies. Works great when you feel you might have d*.

Also, always take probiotics when you take an antibiotic. The antibiotic flushes out ALL the bugs in your gut, even the good guys, so puting the good guys back in there is key to keeping in balance.

Probiotics rock n' roll. They are good for your GI tract, and your immune
system! I eat a cup of vanilla yogurt everyday, and so does my daughter. She
hasn't had a bit of diarrhea since, or any illness for that matter. Save for the
time she threw up her dinner, thank God it was not a bug though.

Anyway, enjoy them! They're usually tasty to most people, and good for you!!
