I have a problem. Soon I will be singing a solo in my high school acapella group. I love to sing, but when i get nervous it feels like I will vomit if i open my mouth. Since I usually feel sick when something huge or exciting is coming up, so what if I feel sick that day and cant open my mouth to sing, or vomit when I open it? I know this is unlikely, but it is still scary.

Hmmm, I have been there...so maybe this will help. I always feel anxious when I have to get up in front of people for any reason...a speech, singing, acting, etc. and usually geta queasy stomach. But, once I do get on that stage or in front of the audience, I forget all about my nervousness and get totally involved in what I need to do. That always settles my stomach, because I am no longer thinking about the fear. Maybe that will work for you as well.
It\'s all right to have butterflies in your stomach. Just get them to fly in formation.

I sing and play guitarin a band, We have two gigs coming up, on the 3rd and 10th of November. We played one two weeks ago and I was very nervous leading up to it, but once we were set up it was such a great atmosphere I just forgot about this stupid problem. Halfway through the set I thought "What if all this jumping around aggrevates my stomach", and I got a twinge of panic, suddenly feeling sick as a parrot, but it soon subsided. I hope everything goes well for you. Just concentrate on your singing and you will be fine. Practice singing all the time, even if you feel nervous. It will become something you can do slightly easier the more you do it. Good luck Xxx Edited by: tomvickery

i feel sick every time i go up on stage, it's pure anxiety.. i put my clarinet in my mouth and i feel as though i could gag!
this is part of the reason why i despise performing, until i come off KNOWING that iv done a decent job.
You have toset yourself in a relaxed state of mind before you go up there, don't think " im gunna be sick" think " i can walk this " and remember there's always a door, which you WON'T need!
    gud luck hun
