I've been getting SEVERE heart palpitations lately and it's more aggravated when I'm in bed. I can't even lay there b/c my heart is pounding out of my chest and I feel it in my head, hands, feet, etc. It sounds crazy , I know. My emetophobia has been better lately so I don't think it's related. Anyone else get palpitations?

Greetings. I have SVT's regularly. I know some palpitations are not classified as such, but I was taught you can bear down as if you have to go to the restroom or are pushing out a baby. And do it very hard for about ten to fifteen seconds and release. You can do that over and over until your palpitations ease up. Or you can drink cold water. I recommend seeing a doctor about this if you can. Most regular palpitations such as that are caused by stress and possibly some lack of nutrients. Try drinking a lot of fruit juice as it is chalk full of potassium and won't constipate you. Also take a multi-vitamin if you do not already. I am terribly sorry for your predicament. It is not comfortable dear, I know.

Aw thank you so much for replying. It's worst at night when I'm lying in bed. It may just be anxiety because I've been in a deep slump depression wise lately. On a good note, it's not due to my emetophobia and that has been basically non existent, for now. I will go to the doctor as soon as I can. Bearing/pushing can help? I'll have to try that. I also heard flushing the face with cold water helps too.
