    Default tips for car traveling

so sometimes i get nervous about traveling long distances in the car. so sometimes i play a game with myself. i look at billboards, the big semi trucks, exit signs, anything like that and try to find a word that starts with A, then after i find one i try to find one that starts with B, then C, then D and so on until i complete the alphabet. I sometimes even get the people who i'm driving with to play too and it gets pretty competitive. Also, another game that i play with my family is kind of like a scavenger hunt, where u make a list of items like a dog, a blue house, a purple car, whatever u want, and then u have to try and find it on ur trip, a lot more fun when u play against someone. both games really help to get my mind off of motion sickness and by constantly looking outside, you brain is able to recognize that u are moving, which in turn will help u not get motion sickness.
I hope this helps anyone who is a little anxious about long trips.

Unless I am driving I tend to be really anxious. I only get motion sick in the backseat, though. I think it started a while back when I started to feel really ill (I have digestive issues). It was a great day on a small day trip with my boyfriend. We were two hours from home and I got so sick feeling. I had to have him pull over because I thought I was gonna be sick and I almost never give in to those feelings. I think I was just having a really bad panic attack. At the time I didn't know I had anxiety, but looking back I think that's what it was. Now, car ride over 45 mins scare me And I use to love going places..

I count the white dashes on the road. I don't know why, but it's a way to keep my mnd off things. I also try to get really engaged in covo with whoever I am with. I try to drive as much as I can, too.

“We are the girls with anxiety disorders, filled appointment books, five-year plans. We take ourselves very, very seriously. We are the peacemakers, the do-gooders, the givers, the savers. We are on time, overly prepared, well read, and witty, intellectually curious, always moving. We pride ourselves on getting as little sleep as possible and thrive on self-deprivation. We drink coffee, a lot of it. We are on birth control, Prozac, and multivitamins. We are relentless, judgmental with ourselves, and forgiving to others. We never want to be as passive-aggressive as our mothers, never want to marry men as uninspired as our fathers. We are the daughters of the feminists who said, “You can be anything,” and we heard, “You have to be everything.”

I love to drive, but when I am a passenger I always fall asleep!

I had to let a co-worker drive because he was afraid to get sick as a passenger. I was all sleepy and "loopy" when we got there because he let me sleep right up until we got to the jobsite!!!
