Unhappy sorry I've been MIA, but

    Hi all,

I'm sorry I haven't been posting lately. My 3 year old has been v* & d* every OTHER day for the past 7 days (MD said not to give her any dairy for AWHILE because her system is so sensitive right now she might not be able to digest it). In addition, my hubby was diagnosed with walking pneumonia back in August. We thought he was over it, but has had a recurrence of it, so he is grounded from work until at least Tuesday, pending an ok to go back to work by his doctor at his recheck on Monday. He gets really tired easily right now, but is trying to help with our daughters as much as possible.

So, I'm getting a little too much exposure therapy these days, and it's breaking my heart that my little 3 year old daughter is still feeling sick. She is fine on the "in-between days," but on the days she has gotten sick, I feel so, so bad for her! I am handling it better and even was able to watch "The Hangover" and the first 45 minutes of "District 9" the past couple of nights without hiding my face or plugging my ears during the v* scenes. (We shut District 9 off because the whole thing was creeping my hubby out, but I was doing ok).

So, I'm trying not to totally freak while my 3 year old is sick again tonight (she tu* when she woke up from her nap), but it's hard because at that age they give no warning.

I'm thinking about you all and keeping you all in my prayers and I'll check in again as soon as things quiet down a bit around here.

You poor thing, sounds like you have been having a rough trott lately.
Although you sound like you are handling it all very well, so good on you! It is very hard with kids & you are living my (& probably your's) worst nightmare!! So I really hope that things get better for you real soon.

I can't believe your poor daughter has been sick for sooo long! That is really terrible.

I wish you all the best, Hang in there, hopefully it will all be over with soon.

I'm hoping your daughter & husband are feeling back to normal very soon

I am so grateful that my 3 year old was able to go back to preschool today! Yesterday was the big turning point for her. She ate NONSTOP from 6 AM until she fell asleep just before 8PM. Today her appetite is back to normal (or even a little above normal).

My hubby is still recovering at home from a recurrence of pneumonia. He is expected to be well enough to return to work on Friday. We also just noticed we have a flood in our basement from the sudden melting of 2 feet of snow plus heavy rain last night and today. So, whatever gets ruined gets thrown out, and whatever doesn't gets moved up higher and we'll get a 2nd submersible pump.

I'm feeling a bit queasy and off tonight, but I refuse to stress over it. What will be, will be.

As for District 9, the v* scene is pretty graphic. There is some spoiler info here, so if you are sure you want to see it skip the part between the 's!

The leader of the team goes into a house and says "A Criminal Definitely Lives Here," v*s once inside a little (I think, hard to remember) and then REALLY v*s outside and it's pretty graphic. It was gross, but I did not panic at all. I kind of knew it was coming because in the previous scene, he was complaining that it was hot out and everyone else said the heat wasn't bothering them. He was also starting to look pale and clammy. The v* wasn't why it creeped my hubby out though. There is a scene where the guy gets sprayed in the face by a fluid (you'll know when it's going to happen now that I've told you it DOES happen). My hubby thought it was acid (it's not, it's the contagen that makes him v* later and there are no visible effects IMMEDIATELY). Anyway, my hubby decided he needed to shut it off after the v* scene, so all I know about the movie is from a synopsis he read to me from the internet. It does get pretty gross in other ways as the contagen makes him start to turn into a "prawn", but I don't know if there are additional v* scenes later. Look up the synopsis on the internet for additional info. I don't want to spoil anymore than I already have!

My middle kid did that once too. She'd seem okay on alternating days and then start v* the other days. It lasted about a week and then she seemed to be just fine. It was weird. I'm glad yours is feeling better today.
