Oh wow. I remember when they were found contaminated but I eat them every so often. I'm lazy and I don't like to make my own salad. But I've never had a problem with it and I've even eaten it after it has looked a bit withered.

I never eat bagged salads anymore, I make my own! Once I found an insect on a piece of lettuce I was just about to eat, and there were loads of them. Put me off for life.
"Here in the final draft, I've given all I have,
Strange how the heart expands in the absence of a plan,
There's nothing left on the page but I'm okay with that,
I found my resolution was designed for stronger hands"
If I buy it I wash it in veggie wash and soap and rinse three times.

I never eat bagged salads, apart from the all too frequent e-coli contamination scares (the last one in europe was those Florette ones) they are washed in chlorine then packed in funny gasses to stop the leaves wilting - much better to buy a whole lettuce, remove the first few layers and use the middle.
