has anyone ever heard of her? we watched a video about her in Pyschology class today and It was so interesting!it was cool because you'll see at the end it relates to V*ing.
basically, she was a little girl who was locked ina room, beaten, and the only thing she had to slee[p on was a kids potty trainor thing, for 12 years. They found her when she was 13, and she could not speak, and walked odd, like an animal. She was mentally retarded, and they couldn't figure out if she was mentally retarded because of her neglect, or if she was born this way. anyway. they try to rehabilatate her, and do numerous studies to see if she could learn language as a teen or not.
basically the theory was that there is a certain critcal period of time when a person can learn language, and if too much time has passed, they no longer have the capacity. through the study they found she learned words overa number of years, but could not form sentences. she went from foster home to foster home and was making progress untill the last home she was in at around age 30 ( who was still acting like a child). she V*ted at the foster home and was severly punished. she never again would speak because she was afraid to open her mouth incase she V*ted again, and wa punished. she reverted back to how she was when they found her.
What do you think? I thought it was kinda interesting to see. what do you all think about this? any opinions?
