    Default Im having an episode

    Hi~
I am so glad I found this website. I guess I will start by telling you a bit about myself. I have emet and it is debilitating at times. Some times are worse than others, depends on whats going on around me. I am totally having a big time panic attack right now over it though. I havent been feeling the greatest for the past couple of days. This morning one of the girls had to leave because she was sick with a stomach bug. There is also another person here with the same thing, but she hasnt left. I know its anxiety, because I felt fine until it was mentioned. So of course now I feel bloated, gassy, gaggy and just friggin awful. Heart pounding and all that crap....help.

Stay calm, I know exactly how you feel. Some girl at school today kept saying she felt ill and now i feel all panicky and acidy, and seeing as you say you felt fine, i'm sure it is just anxiety. Do you have any of your favourite music/tv shows to listen to, to make you feel better or anything? Hope all goes well

i hate when that happens........just hearing other people talk about being sick can ruin me for days. try and find some distractions....i play trivia on the internet in a chat room......so i have to pay attention to it and the people kind of chat in between questions......usually calms me down.

do you have any anti emet drugs? i'm sure a dramamine would help.

try and go outside.....go for a little walk.....listen to some music........

    feel better soon
    how i feel about emet

Anytime someone mentions that they feel stomach sick, I'm immediately "sick" also. Of course, I'm not. But it worries me so much! Just try to relax. You're not sick, it's only because they mentioned it. And wash you hands to keep from getting it.

Welcome. I hope you feel much calmer now. Remember you can't breathe it in or anything like that. I hope this day goes quickly for you because it sounds very stressful being in that environment xxx

    Hello~
Thank you all for your replies. I felt fine last night once I went home. Of course ALL day I hardly ate anything because I was scare I might throw up. I didnt and I felt better once I went home. That is a sure sign to me that it was completely anxiety. I feel ok this morning too. Im hungry and there is nobody here right now that has the stomach thing going on. I hate this and I hate how much it controls me. We are going away this weekend and now Im paranoid that I might get it while we are away....hard to believe Im a 40 yr old woman that obsesses about getting sick. The rational part of my brain tells me not to worry about it, it hasnt happened for 27 yrs and if its going to happen I wont be able to stop it. I guess thats the scary part for me, being out of control. Not being able to stop it if its going to happen. My husband always tries to reassure me that I will feel better once it does, but Im not so sure about that. I feel ridiculous that I feel so afraid of a normal body function. I really need to work more on this in therapy! Its nice to know that you guys are here. Thanks!!

    Corinna
