Hi everyone-

I just wanted to make a post about christmas. Now I dont know about all of you but I always freak out about christmas especially as I got food poisoning during the christmas period 3 years ago and I always freak out because I think of things that can go wrong that relate to my emet - eg. undercooked turkey, gone off food etc. etc. the list goes on. I just urge all of you to try and not worry about that this christmas if you're like me. Just try and chill out, relax and have a good time. Where is everyone going for christmas? Im staying at home with my mum, dad and sister and we have my aunt and two nans coming over.

One more thing...

MERRY CHRISTMAS & BEST WISHES FOR 2005!

From Chris

I try so hard to not let my phobia affect me this time of year, but it does. I worry about someone getting sick and it ruining Christmas. I know in my mind that is silly, but I cant help it. My family is big, so the threat is always there. When you had the food poisioning, how soon did you know it was that and not a virus? I ask because my hubbys aunt that lives up the road from us has been sick, but she didnt get sick until after her company Christmas party the other night. (I made my own post about this.)

I hope that we all have a wonderful holiday season, and that we dont let our fears ruin what is a joyous time.

I too worry about the holidays. I have sooo many places to go in
those 2 short days. My mom's house, my aunt's house, and my
boyfriend' mom's house, and his dad's. (They are divorced) I will
encounter so many different people. The best advice to give is to
wash your hands often. Kids and adults alike spread germs through
hugging and shaking hands. We will all be doing plenty of
that. Make the best of the season...I know I will. Happy
Holidays to all!!! Carrie

Hiya, sorry be be so misserable but Im terrified of Christmas and really not looking forward to it at all. There have been a number of wards closed at a few of our local hospital due to a virus and I am so worried about visiting my in-laws because they all sit there for hours in one small stuffy room. With small children there who like to keep poking their fingers in your face and coughing all over you I am guaranteed to catch anything going around. Twice now I have come away with a chest infection or heavy cold and with a virus going around I am in real panic mode. Just dont know what to do. My husband knows I don't want to go, but in my mind even if we turn up late and go early we still have to be there, we still have to sit in the same room as them even if its only for a few hours, my mind is working overtime.

Oh I wish I didnt have to feel like this and could enjoy myself.

Best wishes to you all, hope your Christmas goes well.

Hello All and Happy Holidays!

I am not worried about Christmas. Whether or not this is true I always believe that if I am sick with one thing I won't get sick with something else. So I am not catching a stomach bug because I have a cold! I just don't believe that I can get them both at the same time---like I said maybe wishful thinking but it hasn't happened yet and it keeps me sane.

So Christmas with a cold is no big deal and I am looking forward to seeing family and friends.

I'm going to try hard to "enjoy" Christmas, but it's going to be hard..... esp. being away from home, we're leaving this Wednesday to head to my parents and coming back home Friday with my in-laws coming over then too. I just worry so much about this and I just want to be free of anxiety. I hate this phobia.

My husband and I are going to my aunt's house for Christmas day. We just moved and plane tickets are so expensive; we can't go home this year. Christmas Eve I think we'll spend alone. Maybe watch some Christmas movies or something. It should be ok. Merry Christmas everyone. Gosh. It doesn't even feel like Christmas to me this year.

We always do the same each year! My grandparents come over at mid-day, we eat a ridiculously large lunch, my granddad falls asleep before his last spoonful of pud, and we wear daft crimbo hats and *always* play charades..sound familiar anyone?
I love love lovve crimbo! So have a fabulous one this year everyone, I've really appreciated all the support I've received from coming here since August, and ya'll deserve a lovely holiday..
mwah!

Merry Christmas!
