I have a great opportunity staring me in the face, but I am afraid to step out of my comfort zone and do this. Currently, I homeschool my children. (Who are 3,4 1/2, and 9.) My daughter who is nine used to go to a private school before we moved. I wanted to still send her after we moved but it was just too much of a ride with two other little ones in tow. Well, we know the man that is President of the Board of Directors for the school and he offered me a job there. So this way I would be there all day with my children, they would have reduced tuition, and I would be getting paid too!! BUT, here is my fear. All my children would be exposed to the threat of catching some sort of stomach virus. If one of them did get sick at school like that, I would have to drive all the way home with them ....... BY MYSELF!! DO you all see where I am going with this ........... I have this great opportunity staring me in the face, but am afraid to do it because of this fear.

    Ughhhhh .......... emetophobia stinks!!

It does stink when you want something so bad, but your phobia stops it
from happening. This has happened to me a lot. But I think
this is a great opportunity for you, and your children. A new
job, and being close to your children....it's wonderful. Of
course only you can make the decision, but I think you should go for
it. The chances of you kids getting sick is pretty slim.
Yes, children tend to get sick, but remember...it is airborne.
You won't get sick just from driving them home in the car. My
mother teaches kindergarten. She has dealt with kids getting sick
in her room, and she has never gotten a bug from any of them. I'm
sure you have taught your children the importance of washing their
hands. Tell them to do the same at school. This is the best
way to stay healthy. Good luck with yur decision! Carrie

I got two words for you; train tracks....

I mean, do it =). I think that this is a great opportunity for your kids to be exposed to a public school setting and good for you as well. It will alterthe mold you are living in right now and it may be hard at first, but it will feel good after you have done it. But, also remember, "don't break the mold, just eat around it" =)Edited by: r311dude
