    hi!

for most of you i'm new here, but for a few members i'm emmawitteveen
from the old forum. like when emetophobia.org had the black portal :P
wow that's long ago... 3 years i think.

well anyway, i don't know if everyone kept their old username since the
forum has changed and stuff. the only one i recognize so far is
    ncsmile6.

    let me introduce myself.

i'm emma from amsterdam, the netherlands, and i'm 18 years old. i found
this site (actually my mum did) when i (she) was desperate because my
phobia got out of hand. this was before i got therapy and things got
    even worse.

after that i started seeing a therapist and within a year my phobia was
'gone'. not entirely of course, but i'm eating enough and i'm healthy
    and happy.

    so i'm back!

    *waves*

Aerodynamically the bumblebee shouldn\'t be able to fly, but the bumblebee doesn\'t know that so it goes on flying anyway.

it's wonderful! it took me a lot of blood, sweat and tears but i'm finally over it.

i'm still scared of vomiting and i don't eat too much and i'm very careful with experation dates, but that's all.

and once in a while i get a panic attack but i know nothing's going to
happen and it's just my brain messing with me again and i won't let
    that happen.

i have a wonderful boyfriend and i'm back in school again (i quit because my parents got divorced and stuff)

    i'm quite happy

Emma, I remember you. I was Eva on the old site. I am so proud of you. I too have been here off and on and needed to get a new name because I had left for awhile. I have been doing therapy for about 3years now. I am so much better. At least I do not constantly think about it. I have some deep emotional link to this fear and a block but am working on it. I only seem to panick if I have heard everyone around me is v***. So anyways, so glad you are doing well.

    hi emma,

i remember your name from the old site, too - but I don't think we talked. good for you getting treated! woo hoo...me too, and after 10 years or so I have no symptoms whatsoever now...i'm starting to specialize in anxiety in my therapy practice (before that I did grief and crisis work, and then marriage and family therapy). writing a book about emetophobia, and my experience with my previous therapist, but it's on hold just now as we're both working on other books for our work.

it's good to have you here as an inspiration to others!
