hurray! good news for the new year right?
I hope whatever caused you and your husband to feel grotty has run its course..
As for your dad, that seems like a very likely explanation for his upset stomach..christmas time is fatal for eating rich foods etc..
I can relate with your mom too, im convinced that the nausea iv experienced today, is a result of me being pre-men..but if it's not im bummed..
i can't believe so many people are getting sick lol!
let us know when the appointment is.

    I think you'll be alright.

That's awesome that you're going to do EMDR therapy. I'm supposed to start that next week on Dec. 28th! I hope it works for the both of us!

    xoxo

But at least it's not v*ing!!!!!!! and it's really common for your period to wreak havoc on your digestive system. It could all be one coincidence.....

I'm super happy for you that you've found a therapist trained in EMDR. I start a new therapist today and I don't think she is. Everyone around here seems to think you can just talk things out and come up with creative solutions to get rid of the fear. I don't know.... but let us know how the appointment goes when you get it! Yay!!!

Thanks guys..my dad is feeling better..and my husband is feeling worse..but i think he just wants to go home! Im dealing with it ok!

I feel like crap right now..very coldy..but the period is due tomorrow.

BUT I am extremely excited..the therapist called me...and we are meeting at 4pm on the 29th..a little over a week away!!! Shes happy ebcause i know about EMDR already..where she normally has to introduce it to clients who have never heard of it...and i actually stated that I knew about it and am interested in it!!

Im going to print out the stuff here on the site for doctors and family members...and I thought i might do a journal this week...just so she has some insight of what a week for me is like...i want help SO bad..for my phobia nad other issues..i want to be a happy healthy person..i want to have a normal relationship with my husband and i will do whatever it takes to accomplish that!!!

    hey kmarie,

cool - I hope it works out well for you. sounds like you're off to a very good start. emdr is indeed helpful, but i usually stress it's not the miracle cure that some practitioners make it out to be. for me, it opened up a lot of good stuff that i slowly was able to work through. but the cognitive stuff (talking, rationalizing, etc.) and the behavioral (gradual exposure) was important as well, and is still the preferred treatment for phobia. but your therapist will know that. the best thing about emdr is that only registered therapists can train in it. so no one does SOLELY emdr...they're usually CBT first.

I sure hope it goes well for you - do keep us informed!

Thanks everyone! I called my insurance co. and got authorization to go to my appointment..and this morning i scoped out her office..lol..sounds stupid but i have to have some idea of where im going. Im nervouze cause its in a building with other offices..im afriad i wil get lost..we will see!

Sage..this woman seems great...she asked me if I had EMDR befor because msot people dont know about it and she has to introduce it to people...so shes happy i have heard of it before. SHe told me "Of coruse it will take a while to get into that..we have to do soem base work first" SO..i think things are going to go well..im not going to rush things..this is only my second therapist...and she may not be the one..but so far i already like her better then my last one (it was a guy..and i feel more comfortable with women i guess!).

anywho...i will elt everyone know how my first meeting goess..its a week away!!!!
