    Default My fear scale 1-10

    My therapist asked me to measure my fear through out the day using a scale from 1 tot 10. 1 being the least 10 being the worst. I have decided to define each and wud like to share and any comments wud be helpful.
    Note: in control means I cud function in a social situation or have "symptoms" but they will disappear as I busy myself

    1 = i think it cud happen but probably it won't - hunger overcomes fear - in control
    2 = get that "pit in my stomach" feeling, like a small warning, in control
    3 = "pit in my stomach" feeling, more serious warning feeling, in control
    4 = start really belieivng it cud happen, taking deep breaths, some belching, in control
    5 = more of number 4 - i think its possible i wont be able to control these feelings
    6 = having serious symtpoms - bloating, sweating, N*, shaking, but believe i can still fight it off
    7 = need to be alone immediately - but will manage and more of number 6
    8 = starting to feel unmanageable - shirt comes off - heavy sweating and heavy N*
    9 = believe attack is coming
    10 = full blown attack

    Also Fear 2 or higher - will FAST until convinced I'm okay which really means starving
    Also Fear 4 and higher can not happen if I have fasted
    Also, there is no set time limit to this scale - I can sometimes go from 1 to 10 rite after a meal in a matter of minutes or 1 to 4 in a matter of minutes etc.

    Wow, I've probably had anxiety like this at times but it sounds pretty bad. I sure hope you don't reach the higher numbers very often. Thanks for sharing.

    Yes, thank you for sharing. I think the quick "flying off the deep end" is part of the emet as I remember reading it. I had a really bad panic attack at a friends house and I literally went from laughing and talking to shaking, dizzy, pale, gagging within 5 minutes and I stayed at a full panic attack for over 6 hours to the point where I couldn't open my hands and my legs and wrists HURT from being clenched up. Fortunatly, I've only had that one panic attack like that that was that bad.
    Just remember to breath....
