Re: Seeking advice and help
david....what a great boyfriend. as you can probably tell this is not a phobia we talk much about in public....people just don't "get it". it can be terrifying for us.....we know it's irrational....but our anxiety tells us differently.
the best thing you can do is ask her what she wants you to do when she's having a rough time. my husband knows that i prefer to be left alone. i let him know by just saying......i'm having a rough time right now.......he knows not to ask me about it at that time......and that if i want to share i will.......usually i don't until the panic is completely over. i feel if i share with him during the panic i will lose control....whatever that means.......but everyone is different....i read lots of posts in here from people who don't like to be alone with it. ......so have a talk with her......is she a member on here? that might be a good idea for her to join also. i know i have found tons of great tips and lots of help and comfort that have made my life alot less stressful when it comes to emet........it's just nice to know there's a place to go and talk about this stupid, ridiculous phobia.........
thanks again for caring so much......lots of partners can't handle it.......
how i feel about emet
