I missed the whole Lost series when it was on TV and on recommendations from friends, I decided to start renting the discs on netflix. So far I absolutely am hooked and have loved the show. Then last night I watched 4 back to back episodes and 2 of them had vomit scenes in them. They weren't graphic where you could actually see something. But they were bent over and retching. And I'm like wow, even this show isn't safe! It seems like I can't go a week without being reminded of it somehow. Whether it's a friend on FB posting his "stomach flu" updates, or seeing it on the ground, or on TV.
One thing I hate is that where I live, it rarely rains. So if someone pukes on the sidewalk on a place I frequently walk by, I may see the dried vomit stain there for months on end before rain washes it away. Sometimes I'll be walking and see such a stain and think, "hmm looks like someone did this maybe a month ago." This was always a problem when I was in school as a kid. Around noro season, I'd start randomly seeing more vomit stains on the playground. And they'd be there for a long time. It's funny and a guess a sign of my mental sickness with this issue, but I have a "map" in my head of all the places I've seen it on the ground and basically forever I'll avoid stepping on this spots, even if the vomit was there long ago and there's no trace of it. It's like I think it'll jinx me to step on that spot, or that one place on the earth is now tainted forever and to be avoided. There was a bar I went to where as I was walking out, I noticed a sour smell and and then looked at one of the couches and the staff was mopping up vomit off the floor in front the couch and it looked so disgusting! I will never, ever be able to sit in the spot that happened, not even 2 years from now. I know that sounds crazy.
