    Default Total panic

Can anyone make me feel less scared , my daughter is coming home on Tuesday for Christmas and she lives with a young family who have had a s* bug over the last few days . Bless her she knows how bad i am and i feel so awful cos i desperetely want to see her but don't want her to bring this bug back with her . I am imagining it sweeping through our whole family and feel so out of control . She is washing her hands and geling them loads but i can't stop feeling so anxious . I know i'm stupid and this is irrational but i feel so scared .

Don't be scared - you'll be OK if you wash your hands before you eat and take a shower everyday. Your daughter is not sick right? Well, if she's not sick now, then she won't have the bug and you can relax. I know it's so difficult to just relax and forget about a sick bug, but you just have to calm yourself. Go to a mirror, look at yourself and say/think - "I'm not sick now. I'm not sick right this minute. I'm perfectly healthy." Then take some calm, fresh breaths and go and have some fun. Chat with your daughter, do something healthy and refreshing. Whenever you feel a panic coming on about a bug, a sick feeling, anything at all, think of right that minute and tell yourself everything is fine right now. Don't think about what might happen tomorrow, or what could happen tonight, just think now. You're not sick now. It's all fine. Good Luck and have a lovely Christmas with your daughter!

Welcome to the site! I know how you must feel *hugs* But don't worry, as long as you practice good hygiene (handwashing, surface cleaning, you know the drill!) and keep a smile on your dial, you should be ok ^_^ Have a wonderful christmas!
