    Question once in my life....

i can only remember one time that i was up all night long throwing up. i think it lasted like just thru the nite and then the next day i just felt week. and one other time i was sick because i ate too much junk. and one time because i had my period and it hurt really bad and i took naproxen on an empty stomach(dumb of me). and in 22 years ive never seen my mom or dad up all night or even throw up once.
i think its just weird because some people get sick like twice a year. i dont ever see my mama and daddy worrying about washing their hands or none of the stuff i worry about. is there some way we may have a strong immune system against it? i think that may be why i have such a fear of it. because i was never taught how to handle it because no one ive known close to me has experienced it. how is it possible to only have had it once in my life and my parents never? or is it possible that ive had it....but just fought it off? can u have noro and never throw up? i know im asking alot of questions and rambling on...but im just curious(lol)

I think you have a very good point. I'am 36 and can only remember 3 times in my life that i've had the sv. Once when i was in 2nd grade, when i was in 7th grade and when i was pregnant 4 years ago. When i was in school we never cared about washing our hands. Not until i became emet did i start washing my hands all the time. I think i got it when i was pregnant because my immune system was down from morning sickness. I have heard some people don't catch it as easy as others. My dad has not had a sv since he was a small child and he's almost 60! On the other hand my mom use to get it all the time. My mom said as a baby i was always v* and had sv all the time so maybe i just built up a good immune to it.

if i knew the answer and could figure it out...ya know...maybe i do have a strong immunity to it or something...i might could save myself a whole bunch of worries! my mama gets nauseous sometimes but never sick...and my daddy...gahhhh he eats the weirdest combination of stuff....and never gets sick! and when we go out to eat...i fuss at em and we have to go wash our hands! other than that they are not germ cautious AT ALL...

There are theories out there about your blood type affecting your immunity, also I think if you have a lot of stomach acid it helps kill viruses. Since about 10 years old (now 25) I have only had 1 sv that I remember. I did v quite a few times as a kid, but not sure if they were svs or reactions to foods. Even though at the moment my immune system is screwed and I'm getting colds/ bugs every 2 weeks, and I work in a school with stuff always going round, I have stayed sv free.
